Are you available on my date?

Possibly! The real question you should be asking is: are you available on my wedding weekend, and how can I apply?
Our wedding photography services are exclusive, and although we receive many applications from brides, we only take in one wedding per weekend (Fri-Sun.)
In order to provide a quality service that only boutiques can provide, we don't accept every inquiry that comes through the door. Why? Because our clients deserve the best. We need to be selective and make sure that our wedding applicants prioritize wedding photography in their allotted budget, have similar artistic vision, and are a joy to be around the full day that we're working together ;) "Well, am I your typical client?" Our typical clients cherish family and understand the value of photos in print. The deepest smile or tear might arise after one look into an old photo album because even for just one moment, you relived an entire memory. Where can I apply to work with Candid Gem?

We make it as simple as possible for potential clients, with everything from consultations to payments and contracts done electronically. Please request an application via the form at the end of the page.

Can I "bump" a client from my weekend for a fee?

Absolutely not. In fact, we're not in this business to chase clients or money. We take pride in having our wall art and albums in our clients' homes, and in offering our clients a boutique level service. However, you can sign up for our Top 5 wedding posing secrets guide, which may provide plenty of value :)
The best chance to secure your wedding date is to request an application, then if all goes well for you, pay the retainer to lock in your date.

What equipment will you use?

We use professional full frame Canon cameras with prime and zoom lenses ranging from 16mm-200mm. We always bring back-up equipment as necessary to ensure a smooth event.

My reception is outdoors and/or really dark. Do you bring lights?

Yes! We'll bring all lights necessary to light up your reception. In fact, we pride ourselves on not having to use the natural light of the sun as a crutch ;)

Do you offer a payment plan?

Absolutely. Our retainer is $1,000 to reserve your date. Then your balance is split into monthly retainers with the final payment due 30 days prior to your date. The sooner you reserve your date, the lower your monthly payment will be. Some weekends are booked out up to two years out, so feel free to request an application once you book your venue.

Do you have liability insurance?

Absolutely, and we'll gladly provide your venue with proof of coverage.

How many photos will I receive?

We shoot for quality, as opposed to trying to reach a set number. Although there's no limit to how many shots we can take, it really depends on the action, which varies per wedding. On average, you’ll receive 80-100 images per hour of shooting. We snap more than that, but we do you the favor of taking out the outtakes like blinks, test shots, and duplicates. All the images are edited for color, exposure, sharpness and white balance.

When will I receive our photos?

We have some of the fastest turn-around times in the industry. Average turn-around time for weddings is four to six months. We have a team dedicated to color correction and host your photo reveal within three to four weeks.

How much do you charge?

We are proud to be an exclusive duo offering quality photography and the best products in the industry. Our all-inclusive wedding packages start at $4800. All packages include two wedding photographers, a wedding album, plenty of coverage time, and a host of other options like family session fees waived yearly for life!

Do you offer holiday discounts?

We don't offer discounts on any specific dates. The best time to apply is as soon as or just before your venue is set.

I don't have my venue set, can I submit an application?

We accept all application requests, but only accept retainers from clients who have their venue booked. We want to make sure your venue is booked, so your date won't change. If you're set on Candid Gem being your photographer/s, please be sure to request an application prior to booking your venue to see if we're available. Thank you!

What about COVID-19 and mandatory rescheduling?

We make every effort to work with you for any city/state mandated rescheduling needs and make it as seamless as possible as long as our couples check in prior to locking in the new date.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we never charged any couple for the reschedule of their wedding or event due to venue lockdowns and were able to accommodate everyone’s new dates with proper communication.
